Finally, it’s Christmas time again and what could be more fun than a Christmas set like the Elf Club House. LEGO has done a lot of things right here: the minifigures are funny, the reindeer is a highlight, and the numerous small details inside bring real joy. The game mechanism that allows the Elves to be thrown out of bed is simply great, as is the pancake machine. In fact, the Elf Club House is the most playful set in the series that I have had in my hands. I also really like the color scheme, Sand Green is just a nice color.

However, I didn’t like the Christmas tree, which I found too kitschy and clumsy. The same goes for the fairy lights, which personally I think are too much.

What hurts this set more, though, is the poor value for money. The predecessor Gingerbread House had almost three hundred more pieces for the same price. The Elf Club House is simply too small for the price.
