LEGO - Icons Boutique Hotel | Set 10297

The LEGO Boutique Hotel modular building really got me! The beautiful Art Nouveau design, the nice details and the numerous references to 15 years of modular history make an impressive package.

The building experience was lots of fun, with funny little hints in the manual to other modulars and an overall very well-made instruction manual for the mature audience. I can’t really understand how LEGO can create such great instructions here, similar to the Lion Knights Castle btw., with big building steps and without all the part colour craziness, and then mess it up with the Razor Crest in the same year.

There are also no stickers, as is typical for modular sets, and so the Icons Boutique Hotel is essentially a realized brick-builders dream. But what captivated me the most was the exterior appearance. Art Nouveau with LEGO charm, that makes you want to go on vacation in France right away.
