With Home Alone, LEGO has probably secured one of the best licenses for the Christmas season and has done justice to it with a really good set. The variety of play functions and hidden Easter eggs is incredible. It’s hard to believe that so much can fit into such a set. Kevin McAllister can ride a sled in the house, dismantle his brother’s shelf, get the rifle, get scared in front of a burning stove, burn Harry’s head, use the TV to scare Murph, and of course, the iron must not be missing.

This is just a small excerpt of what we can discover here. I also particularly like that the front of the house can be opened, which provides additional presentation options for the set. I really like the overall design of the house, although unfortunately even 4000 pieces were not enough to create the rest of the property and the driveway.

However, not everything is gold on Home Alone. Although all the minifigures wear winter coats, the pants are not printed, which looks kind of odd. Additionally, many important elements were only implemented with stickers. It’s a missed opportunity to have Michael Jordan only as a simple sticker and not as a proper minifigure.

Since everything else is pretty much perfect, there’s not much more to say. Unfortunately, LEGO increased the price of the set shortly after its release. Unnecessary.
