Opinion
I generally can’t relate with the concept of “Everything was better in the past”, especially when it comes to LEGO sets. I actually find newer sets most of the times to be better than the older ones. However, the
Imperial Shuttle Tydirium from 2015 is an exception, and what an exception it is. In comparison to the more recent
Imperial Shuttle set, it is better in practically every way.
It provides a significantly better building experience, with much larger building steps, which is simply much more fun. Additionally, it has a great design without visible blue pins or other colorful pieces, with a solid landing gear and nice interior. It also includes a lineup of great minifigures, especially Leia, but also the Endor Commandos are traded for more than 20 euros nowadays for good reason - they are outstanding minifigures.
Of course, this set is not perfect either. I could do without the five stickers, but still, it is one of the best Star Wars playsets I have build so far.
