Opinion
Contrary to the
Imperial TIE Fighter, which I consider to be a well-done set, LEGO took the wrong path with the
Imperial Shuttle by downsizing it. As a result, the shapes have gotten worse compared to the previous
Imperial Shuttle Tydirium, and the cockpit ist to small and a bit loftly.
Furthermore, they failed to hide the blue pins, which looks really poor on a white shuttle. We also have many colorful pieces on board, which also stay visible.
At least the wing mechanism works very well, and the shuttle is ready for wild flight maneuvers due to its robustness, which is probably a plus for children.
The minifigures have also been reduced and are not very original with Darth Vader and Luke, again. However, I do like the imperial officer.
Overall, the
Imperial Shuttle is too small and full of compromises and too expensive for what it can do. If you’re still in the market for a shuttle, you should stick to the
previous version.
