Opinion
The Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor Set from LEGO is certainly one of the stronger Star Wars play sets of the year 2023. The Tie Interceptor is a masterpiece, practically without any weaknesses, except for a few blue pins visible at the back. The proportions are correct, and visually, it cannot be done much better.
The Fang Fighter is less spectacular but also solidly designed. Unfortunately, the cockpit does not rotate, which is not quite authentic, but it benefits the robustness. This is especially noticeable compared to Mandalorian Starfighter from 2021.
The only real weakness are the minifigures. The new Din Djarin' is nice, but did not need to be in this set, just like the imperial Astromech. The Mandalorian Fleet Commander, on the other hand, is very good, and the Imperial TIE Fighter Pilot is also solid. Overall, there should have been two more figures, and especially more exciting ones.
Pricewise, the set is reasonable. There are no stickers, and pieces in incorrect colors are also almost non-existent.
