Opinion
BlueBrixx’s Steam Locomotive Adler plus 1.-3. Class Wagon is not a small set with four Cars, a locomotive, and a tender. It is also not easy to build as it has several shaky construction pieces. That being said, though, the designer Alex has delivered an attractive design that replicates this icon of German railway history surprisingly well. The set is not quite in minifigure scale, but close enough to be able to populate the Adler with LEGO figures.
The gaps between pieces are not always optimal, the Adler cannot be touched everywhere, and the couplings are not magnetic but rather Technic build and a bit difficult to detach. However, the set can be easily motorized.
Building it in a group is also possible thanks to the numerous independent components and the obligatory digital instructions of the BlueBrixx Specials.
Overall, a beautiful design, a good building experience, and lots of railway history for just 70 Euros have given me a lot of joy.
