Opinion

The Medieval farmhouse is one of the largest sets in the BlueBrixx medival series, following Blaustein Castle and the Old Church. I was quite surprised by its size, as it actually requires more space than the other two sets.

Visually, it is also a real highlight, with a clever roof construction, an incredibly detailed interior, and once again a new and fancy timber-frame building technique.

Unfortunately, the designer Martin has once again gone a bit too far. Especially the building technique for slanted beams in the timber framing adds tension to the material where it doesn’t belong. The roof, although generally sturdy, tends to lose a few pieces here and there if handled incorrectly.

The quality of the pieces was decent, even though we have again the cheaper BlueBrixx material in the box. Apart from a few color deviations, I had no problems, though.

Overall, an impressive set if you have the space for it. Maybe not as exiting as its siblings.
