Opinion
The Old Church from BlueBrixx polarizes. On one hand, we have a frustrating building experience with lots of errors in the instructions. There is quite some building in the air, viewing angles don’t work out, and modules are attached at the wrong time, making the construction unnecessarily difficult. All of this adds to an already challenging build and creates unnecessary frustration.
On the other hand, we have a fantastic visual appearance, from the outside, but especially from the inside. The Old Church is full of details. In addition, there are vast amounts of complex and brilliant building techniques. It is an exciting set to build. The remains of a cemetery give the set an interesting mood as well.
On the other hand, the looks of roof and tower may not be for everyone. I would have liked something a bit more exciting there. Also, in terms of price-performance ratio, the set cannot compete with the Blaustein Castle where we get more and better material for our money.
