Opinion
The outer bailey for Blaustein Castle is the expansion that I like the most.
Starting right off, building the foundation, made out of masses of Technic pieces, is a lot of fun and joy. Sometimes more is the better!
What I was most excited about, however, were the brilliant building techniques in the courtyard’ buildings. Such a fireworks display of SNOT (Studs Not On Top) technique can leave no brick-building enthusiast cold. One of the core features of Blaustein is also evident here: brick-excess without compromise combined fine details and clever building techniques.
Since this expansion, BlueBrixx has also switched to GoBricks pieces for the castle. For me, these are one of my favorite pieces next to LEGO. Not as scratch-free as LEGO typically is, but with higher clamping force, which I prefer. In all other aspects, they are similar to LEGO.
