Opinion

The Harbour of the Governors Island from BlueBrixx out of the new Pirate series has been eagerly awaited by many fans. Unlike the Castle series, which was at least partially serviced by LEGO, the Pirates have received little love from Billund lately.

As with the trains, BlueBrixx is once again stepping in here. New is that BlueBrixx is following a clear nostalgia design strategy with this series. The Harbour of the Governors Island is simply constructed and, in its simplicity, strongly reminiscent of sets from the 80s/90s. The design has been brought into the modern era, though, with much more pieces and fewer Panels than before.

In addition, there is a practical modularity that allows the individual components to be reassembled and combined with other sets from the series.

Personally, I prefer modern, more detailed designs with more complex building-technics. But BlueBrixx has created a wonderful set for children. It is certainly something for a nostalgic person or those people who use such a set as a starting point for their own creations.
