Opinion
The Löwenstein Castle from BlueBrixx may still be familiar to many from the AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) Designer Program of 2019. Even four years later, it is still a magnificent design that combines an Architecture atmosphere on the front with the charm of minifigure scale on the back. Designer Martin has achieved this compromise better than most LEGO playsets. It’s a bit like his Neuschwanstein Castle design, combined with a heavily shrunken Blaustein Castle interior.
This set is perfect for anyone who has always wanted a castle by Martin, but simply doesn’t have the space, budget, or patience to build 22.000 pieces.
However, it is certainly not a bargain in terms of price. More than 6.5 cents per piece must be paid, and there are likely to be no discounts. That is almost LEGO price territory.
Overall, a very good castle, but for me it cannot compete with the Blaustein Castle, especially since almost 50% more must be paid per piece.
