BlueBrixx - STAR TREK™ Enterprise NX-01 | Set 105437

The Enterprise NX-01 from the STAR TREK series is polarizing, and that’s a good thing. BlueBrixx has opted for an interesting look in Flat Silver | Silver Metallic that I’ve never seen in a set before. Although the appearance is very unusual, it provides a good change from the Light Bluish Gray | Medium stone grey monotony of the rest of the Starfleet. The set is also really nice to look at. In addition to the color, the shapes are remarkably well done, and the prints add extra value to the model.

However, the building experience was the big weakness of the set. The warp drives were really exhausting to build, and we had never before implemented the saucer section as a huge SNOT (Studs Not On Top) Plate in models of this size, and I hope that it will remain with this one set. Although it looks good, it was not fun to build, and there was always the risk that everything would fall apart.

Price-wise, the set is in the usual range and therefore still appropriate. It is cheaper than comparable licensed sets from LEGO, but it has weaker pieces and no digital instructions.
