Opinion
The Mainz Cathedral from BlueBrixx is once again one of those sets where you’re just glad when it’s finished. Because visually, it looks truly fantastic, with incredible details in a very small space. From the sacristy to the towers to the beginnings of the cloister - everything is really present and easily recognizable. The primary color Nougat is authentic and something you don’t see every day.
The visual appearance was probably also the focus of the designer Anton, as he didn’t seem to pay much attention to structural stability or buildability. The Mainz Cathedral is not for the faint-hearted. The roof is frustrating and I don’t even know how many times I had to retrieve pieces with tweezers.
It’s really annoying that the instructions are also unfair. Often, not all the pieces to be used are shown in the picture.
In summary, we have here a very beautiful and authentic build for frustration-resistant enthusiasts. The price of the set is appropriate for the quality of the bricks.
