LEGO - Creator Expert Winter Village Fire Station | Set 10263

The Winter Village Fire Station from LEGO visually appealed to me. It had nice minifigures, firefighters in historical attire, that bring joy, and golden helmets that you don’t see every day. Additionally, Dark Red is simply a more cohesive color than the normal Red | Bright red used in the more modern LEGO City fire stations. Many beautiful building techniques contribute to the good visual impression.

However, I didn’t like the fundamental decision to use a very large portion of the pieces for the exterior, like the ice rink, the tree, and the park bench. As a result, there wasn’t enough material left to make the building more lavish. Even for a LEGO Winter Village Collection set, this house is extremely spartan and practically empty. The large gate that reveals nothingness reinforces this impression.

It’s really a shame because the basic design is very well done, and one wonders what the LEGO designer could have achieved with 1000 more pieces.

In essence, the Winter Village Fire Station is not much more than a pretty gate with a lounge. It’s a pity, there could have been more here.
