Opinion

Putting the east wing of Buckingham Palace in a seven kilogram set with over five thousand pieces is a challenge. CaDA and designer Tobias Thieme rose to the occasion and delivered an excellent product.

The set is solidly built and a dream to part out as only standard pieces were used in large quantaties. The amount of material in the box is truly impressive, contains the biggest pile of 16x16 Plates I’ve ever seen, and with the mountain brilliant 8x16 Tiles in the package CaDA is showing-off a bit.

I say this also because the Tiles seem visually a bit out of place. With them, in shinning red, the palace courtyard looks a bit like a ballroom.

Otherwise, the model is genuinely nice to look at, designed in modular fashion, and has a lot of building fun included.

Of course, a set this huge is not going to be cheap. However, considering the many large pieces, it costs less than half of the LEGOs Colosseum per gramm. With the high-quality packaging and excellent quality of the CaDA pieces, it’s a real bargain.
