Opinion

The design of the Japanese Style Canteen by CaDA is impressive. Some nice details like the rain gutter and the plants on the house wall catch the eye. The building looks good from all four sides.

The many stickers are annoying, but otherwise the finished object is very pretty. The flag in front of the house may be a bit too kitschy. I really liked the four blue signs with different symbols above the entrance. There are also three small flags shown on the balcony, which add a nice touch of color.

The construction was rather mixed, as the lighting was unusually cumbersome to install this time. CaDA has done a much better job with the wiring in the sibling sets of the series. With the wiring, the building loses its modularity. Of course, you can do without it.

The bricks were typical of CaDA, very good, and the instructions leave no questions unanswered, except for the lighting.

Overall, this set is one of the weaker ones in the series. Besides the usual annoyance with the stickers, the lighting here went wrong, especially.
