Opinion
The Pirate Ship from LEGO is definitely one of the strongest 3-in-1 sets in their portfolio. All three models stand out for their appealing design, the colors are great, and they are all fun to build. Surely, some fans and kids will have multiple copies of this set in their collection. The fact that the ship is made entirely of Bricks and does not use pre-fabricated hull pieces from earlier times is a matter of personal preference. Generally, something built always feels better, but the ship is relatively small compared to the number of pieces.
For a list price of 130 euros, we have very little ship available. However, what bothers me even more is the misleading packaging. The ship has room for four cannons and the packaging suggests that four are included, but this is not the case, only two are in the box. Many kids will be disappointed after unpacking.
Overall, the build is a lot of fun, the design is quite nice, and there are good minifigures, but the price for what we end up with is too high. Pirates of Barracuda Bay was definitely better in this regard.
