LEGO - Technic Ferrari™ Daytona SP3 | Set 42143

LEGO has designed a solid vehicle with the Ferrari™ Daytona SP3, which boasts a license, prints, and some quite exciting technical functions, such as the cleverly made doors and the gearbox. The latter is admittedly not new anymore. However, there are also some new parts used, the best differential I have ever had in my hands, and very good new shock absorbers.

The interesting shapes of the Daytona were cleverly implemented. LEGO’s standard problem of the blue pins is not that noticeable this time, as the cockpit is also in this color.

The problem with the Ferrari™ Daytona SP3 is that the competition from CaDA and Rastar has a few more horses under the hood, nowadays. With equally good parts, we either get cheaper sets or for the same money, we get electronics or many more features.

Where the Ferrari™ Daytona SP3 can still shine is in its comparatively simple build. Therefore, it is recommended for beginners. For more ambitious builders, I would recommend the CaDA portfolio, and for those who like to cruise around, the Audi™ R8 LMS GT3 from Rastar.
