LEGO - NINJAGO™ City Markets | Set 71799

The City Markets set meets expectations in many ways. Remaining true to the concept of the NINJAGO-City series, it is a set for adults that is designed like a kids set. It is huge, highly detailed, filled with fun details, numerous cute little Easter eggs, and has a playful design. It also comes with a variety of well-made minifigures and a decent modularity, although not as strong as the City Gardens.

The cable car is well executed but somewhat cumbersome to operate. The real highlight is the functioning toilet with a sewer connection. Although I knew what to expect, I was still amazed at how long I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.

However, there are also downsides, especially the absurd number of stickers the set requires to look good. Visually, there are also too many large barren areas with a lot of exposed studs.

In conclusion, it is not quite on par with Rivendell, but I guess it doesn’t have to be.
