LEGO - Star Wars™ Coruscant Guard Gunship | Set 75354

The Coruscant Guard Gunship is a difficult one. It is hard to understand why LEGO chose this color variant, which was only used by the Coruscant Guard in a single scene in Clone Wars. This severely limits its usage, especially since there were so many scenes where Commander Fox and his troops used the regular Gunships.

The confusion continues with the minifigures, as Padme appears in an outfit she never wore in those episodes. While it’s great to have Commander Fox in the set, his color scheme means that LEGO has to print white on red, which they are known to not be able to do. As a result, this clone has a Pink breastplate. The Chancellor and the Shock Troopers, on the other hand, are very well executed.

Then LEGO decided to shrink the model. While the visual appearance has not suffered, with the shapes being very well executed, compromises had to be made, such as non-divided doors, the absence of rocket launchers, and a rear hatch that hangs strangely in the air.

Overall, LEGO has implemented the set decently, but has wasted so much potential in doing so.
