LEGO - Star Wars™ UCS Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser | Set 75367

With the Venator, we finally got a Star Wars The Clone Wars UCS set from LEGO and what a set it is! A brilliant design by Lucas Arts skillfully executed by Hans Burkhard Schlömer. This ship looks great from all sides. The angles are genius, the red-gray contrasts are stylish, and the ratio of studs to Tiles is appropriate.

Even the underside is solidly executed. The engines are brilliant and the level of detail makes the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer look outdated. The minifigures are also very good, although Captain Rex could definitely have used a kama and a better helmet mold.

I was only bothered by the four Tile 6 x 6, which are also supposed to be stickered but would seem out of place even if printed. The ship is simply too sleek and detailed for these huge and ugly Tiles. Rainbow colored pieces can also be found inside, although significantly fewer than in the UCS The Razor Crest, and you won’t see them later. Overall, the build was more fun than one could expect.

In summary, it is a fantastic set, for which I just need to find space.
