LEGO - Marvel™ Sanctum Sanctorum | Set 76218

The Sanctum Sanctorum from LEGO looks good and has a nice set of minifigures included. However, LEGO has not yet quite found the formula for Marvel adult sets. Many play features such as the portals inside are somewhat unnecessary and are paid with huge stickers and planel 6 x 6.

Also, the building is a bit small for a real modular. It can be assumed that the play features, all the minifigures and the license have consumed too much of the budget. Without the dual license from Dr. Strange and Infinity Saga which seems a bit unnecessary, they could have saved some money on the figures at least.

Overall, we get a modular that is not really one: too small with too few rooms. An adult set with a corresponding price but with pieces that we know more from children’s sets and far too many stickers.

I do believe that Marvel, like Star Wars, can work for adult sets. So, the direction is right, but LEGO still has a few things to learn.
