Opinion
Building the Dump Truck from Happy Build was a wild ride. This is mainly due to the instructions and construction process. From motor labeling that differed between reality and the instructions, missing cable routing, pieces needed in section two but found in the bags of three, to completely swapping two construction phases.
But once you’ve pushed your way through, you’ll have a surprisingly good looking and gigantic truck in front of you. It’s by far the largest and heaviest Technic set I’ve ever had on the table, and it doesn’t miss its goal of impressing.
It is not a surprise, though, that the system reaches its limits with such a colossus. I had some joints that fell apart already after a short drive. Metal joints like the one from CaDA may help here. While at it a few carbon axles may also be a good idea.
Despite everything, I enjoyed the Dump Truck. The price-performance ratio is decent and the installed GoBricks pieces are great.
